All the little pieces

Life is tough; we all know this. It has a way of bending and shaping us in ways we never considered. It sneaks up when you least expect it, and it can pack a pretty solid punch.

As we get older these facts are more and more apparent. It’s easy to become wrapped up in the daily grind and get overwhelmed by all the crap life can throw at you, especially when it feels like it’s happening all at once.

As some of you may know, I suffer from chronic migraines and rheumatoid arthritis. The past few years, since my arthritis diagnosis, have been increasingly rough. It’s hard enough dealing with chronic health issues, but then life happens… We went through a hurricane about a month ago which we are still recovering from. It would be easy to let the stress build and consume me, which would ultimately make my health worse. It would be easy to feel defeated.

But it’s in these times we need to remember to step outside of our situation and recognize that we are not broken but rather changed. Sometimes things have to be molded, adapted, shaped if you will, to prepare for what’s to come. You can’t bake bread from flour and water without combining and kneading it. Sometimes when we feel shattered, it’s because the smaller pieces fit better into the big picture.

You are a mosaic, a beautiful masterpiece made up of all the pieces of life and experiences that are unique to you. There is no one just like you. And each time you feel shattered or broken, just remember, perhaps the pieces just needed to be different to fit what’s happening in life! 😉❤️
